Ripley wasn't much better but as least he showed he had some remorse about hurting his friend. I can honestly say I haven't found one thing to like about her. She was a coward, and a hypocrite, and incredibly selfish from the beginning to the end. But the trouble with this book is that I couldn't find much to like about the two main protagonists, Olivia especially. So I think my expectations are fairly realistic and I can ignore a fair few faults in the story line or the characters, as long as there some redeeming qualities there. Her books are usually light entertaining fluff, and they help my mind relax when I'm not in the mood to think about anything heavy. I have a few of her other books so I knew what to expect in terms of historical accuracy when it comes to events, language or customs.
